AliousCrystal Palace’s new defender Chadi Riad has expressed his enthusiasm about joining the club and his eagerness to face top Premier League players.
This move marks Riad’s first venture outside Spain in his young career. He began at RCD Mallorca before joining Barcelona’s youth system in 2019.
Riad progressed through various levels at Camp Nou and La Masia before a successful loan spell with Real Betis under Manuel Pellegrini in the 2023/24 season.
His performance at Betis caught Crystal Palace’s attention, leading to his transfer.
The deal was satisfactory for all parties involved – Crystal Palace, Barcelona, and Riad himself. The young defender expressed his excitement about moving to the Premier League, stating:
“Playing in the Premier League has always been my childhood dream.
I consider it one of the world’s best leagues currently. When I received the offer, I immediately accepted without hesitation.”
Riad added, “I’m thrilled to be here.
I’m really looking forward to playing against the top forwards we often see on TV and giving them a good challenge.”
