AliousEverton are facing a significant challenge with Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, as they have yet to secure a buyer for him, according to Ian Croll.
The Liverpool Echo journalist revealed in a response on X that there is currently no interest from other clubs in acquiring the striker.
Calvert-Lewin has been offered a contract extension as his current deal enters its final 12 months, but he seems unlikely to sign it following the failed takeover by Dan Friedkin.
Croll noted that despite the contract offer, no clubs are showing interest, leaving Everton in a difficult position.
Efforts to move Calvert-Lewin to Newcastle as part of a deal involving Yakuba Minteh fell through, and while there is reported interest from West Ham and Manchester United, Everton’s £40 million asking price has deterred offers.
Given his injury history and contract situation, it seems Everton may need to lower their asking price to facilitate a sale.
If they are concerned about losing Calvert-Lewin for nothing, they might need to adjust their expectations, especially as they have resisted Manchester United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite.
