GOOD NEWS: “FARKE’S YOUTH REVOLUTION! Leeds Manager Puts Faith in 19-Year-Old Starlet for Upcoming Season”

As Leeds United prepares for their Championship opener against Portsmouth, manager Daniel Farke appears more content with his squad compared to last year.

Despite selling Crysencio Summerville, the team seems well-balanced after four consecutive pre-season wins.

However, Farke has indicated he’d like to add a full-back, a replacement for Glen Kamara, and a winger to fill the gap left by Summerville.

Journalist Graham Smyth expects Leeds to make these three signings. The focus on a new centre-back seems unlikely, despite losing Charlie Cresswell and Liam Cooper.

Joe Rodon and Max Wober have returned, Pascal Struijk is back from injury, and Ethan Ampadu has moved to midfield.

19-year-old James Debayo has impressed during pre-season, featuring in all four games and starting against Harrogate.

Described as “brilliant” by Michael Skubala, Debayo has shown versatility by playing at right-back as well.

With Leeds not actively pursuing a centre-back and given Debayo’s strong pre-season performance, it appears he may be promoted to fourth-choice centre-back for the upcoming season, behind Rodon, Struijk, and Wober.
