A 21-year-old player has become the center of a busy transfer saga in the English Football League (EFL) this summer.
Crystal Palace has confirmed he’s available for a loan move.Rangers have now joined the competitive race to sign the player, according to journalist Alan Nixon, adding more intrigue to the situation.
The player, Rak-Sakyi, had an impressive loan spell with Charlton Athletic in League One during the 2022/23 season.
He contributed to 25 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions, scoring 15 and assisting 10.
This performance established him as a promising talent for Crystal Palace. However, last season was difficult for Rak-Sakyi due to injuries.
He made only eight first-team appearances before a serious hamstring injury sidelined him during a match against Tottenham Hotspur.
He did manage to score four goals in three Premier League 2 appearances, including a hat-trick against Tottenham’s U21s.
Rangers have reportedly agreed to meet Crystal Palace’s conditions for the loan, following their disappointing opening day draw against Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.
Queens Park Rangers have also made a competitive offer, joining other interested clubs like Sheffield United, Leeds United, and Southampton.
Crystal Palace’s loan conditions include the borrowing club paying all of Rak-Sakyi’s wages and a loan fee.
Rangers hope their substantial offer will be enough to secure the young winger’s services, despite competition from several Championship clubs.
