BARCELONA PLAYING HARD BALL: “Everton’s AUDACIOUS €28M Swoop for Barcelona Wonder Kid HAS JUST REJECTED! Transfer tussle has jusy been set off

Everton is looking to strengthen their squad this summer, with a focus on adding a new striker.

Despite having Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto, the club believes another young, promising forward could enhance their attacking options.

According to reports from Florian Plettenberg, Everton has made a bid for Barcelona’s 19-year-old striker Vitor Roque.

The offer, reportedly around €25 million plus €3 million in add-ons, was promptly rejected by Barcelona, who are seeking €30-35 million for the player.

Everton remains in negotiations with Barcelona’s sporting director Deco for Roque, who is under contract until 2031.

While Roque is considered highly talented, the potential transfer fee represents a significant investment for a player yet to prove himself at the highest level.

The pursuit of Roque comes despite reports suggesting Everton’s transfer activities might be limited to loan deals due to financial constraints.

However, the sale of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa may have provided some funds for transfers.

Everton has already been active in the transfer market, bringing in five new players, including Jack Harrison on another loan from Leeds United.

If they manage to sign Roque, it would be seen as a statement of intent, demonstrating the club’s ambition despite their financial challenges.

The club’s efforts to support manager Sean Dyche with quality signings have been notable this transfer window, and the potential addition of Roque could further bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
