Significant changes to the squad are expected regardless of which division they compete in next season. Several key players, including Micky van de Ven and Archie Gray, are attracting interest from rival clubs, raising the possibility of a major squad overhaul. Meanwhile, the future of one midfielder appears to have already been settled.
According to TEAMtalk, Yves Bissouma is set to leave Spurs on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season. Although the club hold an option to extend his deal by an additional year until 2027, they are reportedly unwilling to activate it, paving the way for his departure this summer.
The 29-year-old has struggled for consistent involvement this season, spending long spells out of favour under former manager Thomas Frank due to injuries. Even after returning to the squad, off-field disciplinary issues and inconsistent performances have done little to improve his standing. Reports also suggest his agent is already in discussions with other clubs ahead of a summer exit.
Bissouma joined Spurs from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 for £25 million, but his four-year spell in north London now looks set to come to an end. Clubs across Europe, including Marseille, Nice, and Galatasaray, have been linked, while earlier interest from Everton and West Ham United appears to have cooled. Moves to the Saudi Pro League or MLS are also being considered.
His exit would ease pressure on the club’s wage bill, and reports indicate that the decision over his future has already been made—meaning it will not depend on whoever is appointed as Spurs’ permanent manager ahead of next season.
