AliousSheffield United manager Chris Wilder is hopeful about finalizing the signings of goalkeeper Michael Cooper from Plymouth Argyle and winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace before their upcoming Championship match against Queens Park Rangers.
Both players were present at Bramall Lane during Sheffield United’s 4-2 victory over Wrexham in the EFL Cup.
While Wilder was cautious about discussing the players’ presence, he indicated that the club is working to complete a couple of signings before the weekend.
These additions would strengthen the squad as the transfer window’s closure approaches.
The team is in good spirits following two consecutive wins to start the season.
In the Wrexham match, Rhian Brewster’s cross led to an own goal, but he later missed a penalty which was followed up and scored by young Louie Marsh.
Unfortunately, right-back Femi Seriki had to leave the game early due to a groin injury.
This is particularly concerning given the team’s current shortage in that position following Jayden Bogle’s move to Leeds United and Jamie Shackleton’s pre-season injury.
Wilder praised Alfie Gilchrist’s performance as a substitute, describing him as a tough, no-nonsense competitor.
He also expressed satisfaction with the overall team performance.
