AliousLeeds United is reportedly considering a surprising move to bring Jack Clarke back to the club, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 23-year-old winger is being eyed as a potential replacement for Georginio Rutter, who recently left the team.
However, Leeds isn’t alone in their pursuit of Clarke.
They face competition from Southampton and Italian club Lazio. Leeds manager Daniel Farke is keen on reuniting with Clarke, who left Elland Road for Tottenham in a £10 million deal back in 2019.
This summer has been challenging for Leeds following their relegation to the Championship. The club has lost several key players, including Rutter, Archie Gray, and Crysencio Summerville.
In an effort to bolster their attacking options, Leeds is now looking to bring Clarke back.
During his previous stint at Leeds, Clarke was highly regarded by then-manager Marcelo Bielsa, who praised his technical abilities and attitude.
Although Clarke’s time at Tottenham didn’t work out as hoped, he has since flourished at Sunderland, becoming one of the standout players in the Championship.
While Clarke wouldn’t be a direct replacement for Summerville or Gnonto, his addition would undoubtedly bring quality to Farke’s squad.
