AliousMark Goldbridge has mocked the notion of Everton potentially selling Jarrad Branthwaite to their bitter rivals Liverpool, after turning down Manchester United’s interest in the defender.
Unconfirmed reports on August 18 suggested Branthwaite might switch to Liverpool, prompting Goldbridge, a talkSPORT host and social media personality, to react gleefully.
He posted on X: “Imagine if Everton had to sell Branthwaite to Liverpool because they botched a deal with us.
Their fans would surely be thrilled about that.”However, Branthwaite is unlikely to leave Everton.
Earlier transfer rumors about his departure were fueled by Everton’s financial uncertainties.
While these issues persist, the club seems less pressed for immediate funds now.
Everton made it clear to Manchester United that only substantial offers for Branthwaite would be considered.
United has since pursued other targets, and speculation about Branthwaite’s exit had died down until recently.
Despite the rumors, it’s extremely improbable that Everton would ever contemplate selling Branthwaite to Liverpool.
While Branthwaite may eventually leave Everton, it won’t be for their local rivals.
