AliousFulham and Crystal Palace have reached an agreement for defender Joachim Andersen, with a fee of £30 million including add-ons.
This follows Fulham’s previous offer of £25 million plus £5 million in add-ons, which has now been increased.Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s other center-back, Marc Guehi, has been a target for Newcastle United.
However, Palace has rejected multiple bids for the England international, who is valued at £65 million.
As a result, Newcastle is now considering Liverpool’s Joe Gomez as an alternative.Earlier in the transfer window, Palace chairman Steve Parish suggested it was unlikely the club would sell both Andersen and Guehi.
However, with Andersen’s departure now imminent, Palace may accelerate their pursuit of Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix.
Andersen and Guehi have been crucial to Palace’s defensive setup in recent years, with both joining the club in the same summer. Interestingly, Andersen previously played for Fulham on loan from Lyon in the 2020-21 season before moving to Crystal Palace.
This transfer could significantly impact both clubs’ defensive strategies for the upcoming season, with Fulham strengthening their backline and Palace potentially looking to reinvest in a replacement.
