The 33-year-old reportedly wants to leave St James’ Park after being left out of the starting lineup in a recent match against Southampton.
Trippier is seeking regular first-team football, and Everton have reportedly held initial discussions about a potential loan deal.
This comes as Sean Dyche looks to strengthen his options at right-back.
Everton’s need for a right-back has become apparent after recent events:
1. Ashley Young, who started at right-back against Brighton, was sent off in a 3-0 defeat.
2. Mason Holgate had to fill in at the position following Young’s dismissal.
3. Seamus Coleman, while still with the club, is 35 and can’t be relied upon weekly.
Trippier would be considered a major coup for Everton if they can secure his services.
Despite his age, the 54-time England international is still seen as having a lot to offer.
