IMAGINE HIS COMBINATION WITH MARC GUEHI: Crystal Palace is Expected to Sign Defensive Maestro Who has eyes for Creativity and Good Workrate But Liverpool is making it Difficult…..

Crystal Palace’s transfer plans have been complicated, partly due to Liverpool’s influence.

With potential departures of Joachim Andersen and Jordan Ayew, and ongoing interest in Marc Guehi from Newcastle, Palace is seeking to reinforce their defense.

Palace’s pursuit of VfL Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix has hit a snag:

1. Wolfsburg was planning to replace Lacroix with Liverpool’s Sepp van den Berg.

2. However, increased interest in van den Berg, particularly from Brentford with a reported £30m bid, has caused a “price explosion.”

3. Wolfsburg has withdrawn from the race for van den Berg due to the increased cost.

This development complicates Palace’s efforts to sign Lacroix, as Wolfsburg is unlikely to sell without securing a replacement first.

Interestingly, Lacroix has a connection with Palace manager Oliver Glasner, who signed him for Wolfsburg in 2020.

This relationship could prove crucial in negotiations.

Lacroix is reportedly keen to leave Wolfsburg with only 11 months left on his contract.

The German club is believed to want £17m for the defender.

If Glasner can convince Lacroix to submit a transfer request, it might force Wolfsburg to sell before finding a replacement.

The situation remains fluid, with ongoing talks between Crystal Palace and Wolfsburg.

The final days of the transfer window will be crucial in determining the outcome of this potential deal.
