THE WAIT IS OVER: “GUEHI’S PALACE EXIT IMMINENT! Bid Set to Be Accepted as Transfer Dominoes Fall”

Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace’s defender, has been a transfer target for Liverpool, but it appears he may be close to joining Newcastle instead.

As Newcastle nears a deal for Guehi, Crystal Palace is reportedly considering Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah as a potential replacement.

Liverpool’s interest in Guehi, 24, stemmed from his impressive performances for England during Euro 2024.

The Reds have been looking to strengthen their center-back position, with captain Virgil van Dijk in his final contract year and Ibrahima Konate facing injury issues.

Despite having promising young defender Jarell Quansah gaining Premier League experience, Liverpool released Joel Matip last season, and Joe Gomez’s future at Anfield remains uncertain.

Chalobah’s absence from Chelsea’s preseason tour has fueled speculation about his future, as the Blues seem keen to sell the academy graduate this summer.

Sky Sports reports that Newcastle is optimistic about finalizing a deal for Guehi by the weekend, with a package worth around £65 million ($85.2 million) plus add-ons likely to convince Palace to sell.

Palace is already exploring replacement options, including Benfica’s Tomas Araujo, while Chalobah remains a possibility.

If Palace secures a replacement, Guehi’s transfer is expected to be completed before the end of the summer window.
