BAMFORD BLOW DEALT! “Leeds Struggle to Find Form Without Star Striker”

Patrick Bamford is missing from Leeds United’s squad for their match against Sheffield Wednesday due to a hamstring injury sustained in training.

Manager Daniel Farke described it as a “minor issue” but suggested Bamford might also miss next week’s game against Hull City.

This setback adds to Leeds’ challenging start to the season, with Max Wober also out due to a calf injury.

Bamford has only started once this season, in a disappointing Carabao Cup loss to Middlesbrough.

Spanish U21 international Mateo Joseph has moved ahead of Bamford in the pecking order and will lead the attack again.

New signing Largie Ramazani is unavailable as he wasn’t registered with the English Football League in time.

Brenden Aaronson starts in the number 10 role, with Joel Piroe on the bench.

Leeds are short on players, with two goalkeepers (Karl Darlow and Alex Cairns) named as substitutes.

Sixteen-year-old Sam Chambers is also on the bench.

Leeds are still seeking their first win of the season after draws with Portsmouth and West Bromwich Albion.

The starting lineup for Leeds is:

Meslier; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Firpo; Ampadu, Gruev; Gnonto, James, Aaronson; Joseph. Substitutes are Darlow, Byram, Gelhardt, Crew, Debayo, Rothwell, Chambers, Cairns, and Piroe.
