AliousCrystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has indicated the club’s need for at least two more signings before the transfer window closes on August 30.
This comes after several changes to the squad:
1. Departures: – Joachim Andersen sold to Fulham for £30 million
– Jordan Ayew transferred to Leicester for £8 million
– Michael Olise sold to Bayern Munich for around £50 million
– David Ozoh and Jesurun Rak
-Sakyi loaned to Championship clubs
– James Tomkins

2. Arrivals:
– Daichi Kamada – Ismaila Sarr – Chadi Riad
Glasner explained the situation as simple mathematics:
seven players have left the squad while only three have joined, leaving a deficit of at least four.
However, he clarified that they don’t necessarily need four new players, but at least two are required.
The manager emphasized the importance of having players who want to be part of Crystal Palace.
He stated that if a player expresses a desire to leave for any reason (sports, better club, more money, or family), and if the club finds an agreement with another team, the transfer can proceed.
Glasner believes it’s counterproductive to force players to stay if they want to leave.
Regarding the departures, Jordan Ayew made 212 appearances for Palace, scoring 23 goals and providing 22 assists.
Joachim Andersen, who joined from Lyon in 2021, made 113 appearances for the Eagles before his move to Fulham, which reportedly includes a significant pay increase.
Glasner’s approach focuses on building a committed squad, and he’s looking to strengthen the team further before the transfer window closes.
