Former Everton manager Frank Lampard once valued Chelsea transfer target Dominic Calvert-Lewin at up to £80 million.

Lampard, who coached Calvert-Lewin at Everton from 2022 to 2023, held the striker in high regard despite a challenging season where Everton barely avoided relegation.

During that period, Calvert-Lewin struggled with injuries, missing 60 days due to a knee problem and another 17 games because of recurring hamstring issues.

Nevertheless, Lampard saw immense value in the 27-year-old striker, who has been a key player for Everton since 2016.

In 2022, Lampard commented on Calvert-Lewin’s potential impact, suggesting that a striker of his caliber could be worth between £60-80 million.

He emphasized the positive influence such a player could have on team confidence and performance, provided he stays fit.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has been active in the transfer market, making significant investments to improve their squad after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season.

Calvert-Lewin is reportedly among their transfer targets.
