They targeted Aguerd, who seems to have fallen out of favor at West Ham, but the 28-year-old Moroccan declined the move.
While Aguerd is reportedly open to leaving the London Stadium this summer due to his reduced playing time, he apparently wasn’t interested in a move to Germany with Wolfsburg.
The situation raises questions about Aguerd’s preferred destination should he leave West Ham.
His position in the team has been affected by the arrivals of Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman under manager Julen Lopetegui.
West Ham now have five center-backs – Todibo, Aguerd, Kilman, Kurt Zouma, and Konstantinos Mavropanos – suggesting that one or more might depart before the transfer window closes.
While Aguerd won’t be joining Wolfsburg, who saw their approach quickly turned down, his future at West Ham remains uncertain.
