AliousSheffield United has set a price of £18 million for Leeds United to acquire Gustavo Hamer this summer, as reported by Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.
This fee would set a new transfer record for a Championship team.
Leeds has already had a £13 million offer rejected for the 27-year-old Dutch midfielder, who joined Sheffield United just last year.
Nixon suggests that an additional £5 million could secure the deal.
Leeds United has been actively pursuing Sheffield United players, having already signed Jayden Bogle for £5 million.
The £18 million asking price for Hamer may give Leeds pause, especially with the transfer deadline approaching on August 30.
However, Hamer’s potential impact could be significant, similar to Ruben Neves’ effect on Wolves when they signed him for £15.8 million in 2017.
Neves helped Wolves gain promotion to the Premier League, and Leeds hopes Hamer could do the same for them as they aim to bounce back from their recent playoff final loss.
