AliousBryan King, a former Everton scout, has strongly criticized Neal Maupay following the striker’s move from Everton to Marseille.
King suggests that if he were in Sean Dyche’s position, he’d be relieved to see Maupay leave.
Everton officially announced on August 30th that Maupay had joined Marseille on a season-long loan, with the French club obligated to purchase him afterwards.
Before the transfer was finalized, Maupay seemed to mock Everton on social media by posting a clip from “The Shawshank Redemption” depicting a prison escape.
King, in an exclusive interview with Goodison News, condemned Maupay’s actions as “childish.”
He stated, “If I were Dyche, I’d be glad to see Maupay go.
This social media stunt is disrespectful to the club that’s been paying him. It’s immature behavior.
He wasn’t playing at Everton, he got his transfer, he should just move on without making a fuss.”
Although Maupay’s permanent departure isn’t immediate, his move to Marseille will be finalized next summer.
This development likely comes as a relief to Everton supporters, given Maupay’s poor performance – scoring only once in 32 appearances for the club.
His parting shot at Everton seems particularly inappropriate considering his lackluster contribution.
It’s probable that Dyche is pleased with Maupay’s exit, and it’s unlikely that there were any emotional farewells in the locker room.
