EZE’S TALENT UNDERATED? Palace Chairman Surprised by Limited Interest in Star Player Despite Spurs interest”

Tottenham were reportedly interested in signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace at the start of the summer transfer window.

There were suggestions that Spurs had explored the possibility of activating Eze’s reported £60m plus add-ons release clause.

However, a move for the attacking midfielder never materialized.

Eze was not only linked with Tottenham, but also with other Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City.

However, the England international ultimately remained at Crystal Palace, much to the relief of the club’s chairman Steve Parish.

Parish revealed that he was “astounded” by the lack of serious interest in Eze, as he considered the player to be “an outstanding footballer, an outstanding person.”

It’s suggested that Tottenham may have been less inclined to pursue Eze if their summer signing Arnaut Danjuma had not impressed so much during pre-season.

Danjuma’s performances, along with the potential of young midfielder Pape Sarr, seemingly made Spurs feel they had sufficient options to compete for the number ten role without needing to sign Eze.
