Despite losing the Championship play-off final to Southampton in May, which resulted in several star players departing, Leeds managed to recruit effectively. They brought in Ao Tanaka, Jayden Bogle, Largie Ramazani, and Manor Solomon to replace the outgoing Crysensio Summerville, Georginio Rutter, and Archie Gray. The team has since made a promising start to the new season, currently sitting fourth in the Championship table with eight points from four games.
Journalist Graham Smyth, speaking on the Inside Elland Road Podcast, highlighted Kinnear’s persuasive abilities. He recounted anecdotes of players entering Kinnear’s office determined to secure a pay rise, only to leave agreeing that maintaining their current salary was the best course of action. While the club has experienced some recent successes, they face upcoming challenges. Star winger Daniel James is sidelined for four weeks due to a hamstring injury, which could impact the team’s performance in their upcoming fixtures against Burnley, Norwich City, and Sunderland. However, Farke has other talented players at his disposal, including Wilfried Gnonto, Brendan Aaronson, Ramazani, and Solomon, who are ready to step up in James’ absence.
