Their next challenge comes away at the Stadium of Light against Sunderland following the international break. The club is also searching for a new manager after the departure of Igor Tudor, although Roberto De Zerbi is widely expected to take charge in time for the trip. Whoever is in the dugout, however, will have to contend with a lengthy injury list.
Vicario’s return timeline
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is not expected back until late April after undergoing surgery for a hernia. He will miss the Sunderland clash, meaning either Antonín Kinský or Brandon Austin is set to deputise.
The club recently confirmed that the procedure was timed to minimise disruption, with Vicario already beginning rehabilitation and targeting a return within the next month.
Attacking and midfield concerns
Forward Mathys Tel remains sidelined with a groin issue, although there is hope he could return at some point in April. Whether he will be fit to feature against Sunderland remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Kudus and Rodrigo Bentancur are both recovering from muscle injuries. They are expected to resume full training ahead of the weekend and could be available, having made positive progress during the international break.
Further injury doubts
There are additional concerns for Spurs heading into the fixture. Yves Bissouma missed the defeat to Nottingham Forest due to a muscle problem and remains a doubt, pending further assessment.
Defender Ben Davies is still recovering from a broken ankle, with no confirmed return date, though a comeback later in April has been suggested.
Playmaker James Maddison continues his rehabilitation from an ACL injury and could yet feature before the end of the season, with previous optimism from the coaching staff about his progress.
Long-term absentees Wilson Odobert and Dejan Kulusevski are also unlikely to play any role. Odobert is expected to miss the rest of the year following knee surgery, while Kulusevski is not anticipated to return during the 2025/26 campaign due to an ongoing knee issue.
