The video, posted on TikTok by his girlfriend Britney De Villiers, shows the pair shopping in London, raising questions about his availability for the upcoming match.
The situation adds to Nuno Espirito Santo’s injury challenges this season, with Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo already sidelined until the New Year. The team has managed to perform well despite these setbacks, currently sitting tenth in the table. However, Gibbs-White’s potential absence could be particularly significant, given his role as the creative hub of the team under Espirito Santo.
The importance of Gibbs-White to Forest’s system was starkly illustrated in their only defeat of the season against Fulham – the sole game he’s missed after receiving a red card against Brighton. In that match, strikers Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood struggled without his creative influence.
While reports suggest Gibbs-White has a 50% chance of featuring against Palace, the sight of him on crutches has naturally sparked concern. The team is also monitoring goalkeeper Matz Sels, who withdrew from Belgium duty with an adductor issue but is given a more optimistic 75% chance of playing.
