AliousJamie Carragher has delivered a brutal assessment of Tottenham Hotspur, insisting their performances are so poor that relegation now looks inevitable. Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher didn’t hold back. He argued that while new managers are often given time to implement their style, Tottenham’s situation demands immediate results—something he believes neither Tudor nor De Zerbi has been able to deliver. He pointed to their alarming run of form, highlighting a return of just one point from the last 24 available, and questioned their ability to win even against struggling sides.
Carragher’s harsh verdict underlines the scale of the challenge facing Spurs, who are now fighting to avoid their first relegation since 1977. Their remaining fixtures include home games against Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, and Everton, along with difficult trips to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa, and Chelsea.
Tottenham’s slide into the bottom three was confirmed after West Ham’s emphatic 4-0 win over Wolves, while Forest’s 1-1 draw with Villa kept them just above the drop zone.
Despite the setback, De Zerbi struck a more optimistic tone. He felt his side performed well enough to avoid defeat, pointing to several missed chances and moments of promise. The Italian also expressed concern over Cristian Romero’s injury but urged his players to stay united and respond positively.
While acknowledging the difficulty of the season, De Zerbi insisted the squad has the quality to turn things around. However, with time running out and pressure mounting, Tottenham must quickly transform belief into results to keep their Premier League status alive.
