FINALLY! 24-year-old Tottenham star’s agent breaks silence, debunks exit rumours, and confirms the player is 100% staying to fight for the club

Radu Drăgușin’s situation at Tottenham has been painted in a very different light by his agent, Florin Manea, who recently claimed the defender is eager to stay and establish himself under Roberto De Zerbi. But that version of events doesn’t quite align with what has unfolded over the past few months.

In reality, Drăgușin has been linked with a move away since his form dipped earlier in the season. Reports throughout the winter window suggested his representatives were exploring options in Italy, with AS Roma frequently mentioned as a likely destination. On the pitch, his role has diminished significantly—he has started just five Premier League games and has gradually fallen out of favour, with only brief substitute appearances, including a short outing against Wolves.

Manea’s recent remarks, relayed via Digi Sport, suggest there is no urgency and that the player remains focused on helping Tottenham. However, those comments feel more like a strategic attempt to reshape the narrative than a reflection of the true situation. Multiple credible reports over time indicate that Drăgușin is open to leaving, while his agent has consistently explored that possibility. Tottenham, for their part, have been reluctant to sanction a mid-season departure, partly due to squad depth concerns and long-term planning that includes integrating younger options like Luka Vušković.

Manea himself stated that no formal approaches have been made and that discussions about the future will wait until the end of the season. Still, such statements often serve a purpose in negotiations—positioning the player as calm and flexible rather than unsettled.

For De Zerbi, this creates a clear dilemma. Drăgușin is under contract until 2030, but his performances have not justified a key role in the squad. The manager did not bring him in and may not see him as part of his long-term plans. Keeping a player who is potentially unhappy carries risks, particularly when it comes to motivation and squad harmony.

Ultimately, Manea’s comments appear designed to keep options open and strengthen negotiating leverage. For Tottenham, though, the priority is clarity. De Zerbi will need to make a firm decision on Drăgușin’s future—either reintegrate him with a defined role or consider a summer exit rather than prolonging an uncertain situation.
