Roberto De Zerbi, who has agreed to a five-year deal in North London, is expected to play a key role in reshaping the squad. One position under consideration is left-back, with a familiar name from De Zerbi’s past now emerging as a potential target.
Pervis Estupiñán, currently at AC Milan after leaving Brighton last summer, has been linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks. The Ecuadorian international previously thrived under De Zerbi at the Amex, but his time at the San Siro has not gone as planned.
According to reports from Italy, Milan are now prepared to part ways with the 28-year-old just one season after his arrival. MilanLive claims that both the club and player are expected to go their separate ways this summer, with De Zerbi keen on a reunion.
Further reports suggest Milan are willing to sell Estupiñán at a reduced fee. Despite spending around €19m (£16.4m) to sign him, CalcioMercato indicates the Serie A side could accept offers in the region of €14m (£12m).
At that price, Spurs may face competition from other Premier League clubs, although De Zerbi’s relationship with the player could give Tottenham a significant edge in the race for his signature.
