AliousReports from Italy suggest that Inter Milan have reached an agreement in principle with Guglielmo Vicario and Tottenham Hotspur, but two key hurdles remain before any move to the San Siro can be completed.
The Nerazzurri have been strongly linked with Vicario throughout the 2025–26 season, with the club eyeing him as a potential replacement for Yann Sommer, whose contract expires in June and is not expected to be renewed.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have already agreed on the broad terms of a contract with Vicario’s representatives, including salary and duration, although the exact figures have not been disclosed. The report claims that discussions between the two parties are essentially complete.
However, Inter must still resolve two major issues before finalising the deal. The first is agreeing on a transfer fee with Tottenham. Recent reports in Italy have suggested a valuation in the region of €15m to €20m, though Spurs may be more inclined to sell if they are relegated from the Premier League this season.
Tottenham currently sit in the relegation zone, two points from safety with just four games remaining.
The second issue concerns Josep Martínez, who has largely played as backup to Sommer over the past two seasons. While the Spaniard has impressed when called upon, his situation presents a dilemma for Inter. At 27, Martínez is eager for regular first-team football next season—whether that comes at Inter or elsewhere.
