Adingra proving his worth
In only four Ligue 1 appearances, Adingra has already netted three times, including a stunning strike against Angers SCO. Despite beginning that match on the bench after a quiet first half, the Ivorian made an instant impact when introduced, helping turn the game in Monaco’s favour. Angers manager Alexandre Dujeux acknowledged the “important role” played by the Sunderland loanee in Monaco’s 2-0 victory — a result that stretched their unbeaten league run to six matches.
Speaking after the win in the Principality, Adingra smiled as he reflected on how smoothly he has adjusted. He admitted that settling in quickly at new clubs is usually part of his character. However, his experience at Sunderland AFC was different. Following his summer move from Brighton & Hove Albion, he found it difficult to hit top form at the Stadium of Light.
That slow start ultimately opened the door for Monaco to secure him on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Beyond his goals, Adingra’s flexibility has become a major asset for a Monaco side rediscovering momentum. He has already featured in multiple roles — wing-back, left wing, and even in a more central attacking position. As he explained after the match, the coach decides where he plays, and it is his responsibility to adjust. So far, he has done exactly that.
