While the club’s immediate priority remains securing their Premier League survival, their situation worsened after a dramatic late setback against Brighton & Hove Albion. A 95th-minute equaliser from Georginio Rutter denied Spurs a crucial victory — one that would have been their first in the league since December 28.
The 2-2 draw leaves Tottenham five points behind 16th-placed Nottingham Forest and just one point adrift of 17th-placed West Ham United. The gap could widen further depending on West Ham’s result against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Despite some encouraging signs in their recent performance, manager Roberto De Zerbi is aware that improvement alone is not enough — results are now essential. Tottenham face a must-win clash against bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux this weekend, with added pressure as Wolves could be relegated if results elsewhere go against them.
Regardless of how their season ends, Spurs appear to be laying the groundwork for a summer rebuild.
Five Players Listed for Transfer
Among those reportedly made available is centre-back Radu Drăgușin. The Romanian international is said to be open to leaving after struggling for regular game time and has already asked his agent to explore potential moves, with interest emerging from clubs across Europe.
João Palhinha and Randal Kolo Muani — currently on loan from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain respectively — are also expected to be moved on. Palhinha showed early promise but has struggled for consistency, while Kolo Muani has failed to make a significant impact, registering just one goal and one assist in 25 league appearances.
Given the uncertainty over Tottenham’s league status next season, permanent deals for the duo may prove complicated.
More Departures Expected
Veteran defender Ben Davies is another likely departure, with his contract set to expire this summer. Although injuries have limited his involvement, his experience could still be valuable — particularly if Tottenham drop into the Championship, where squad depth and leadership are crucial.
Perhaps the most surprising name linked with an exit is Pape Matar Sarr. The Senegal international still has four years remaining on his contract but has only started 13 league games this season. While he missed part of the campaign due to AFCON duties, he has been one of the more consistent performers in an otherwise difficult season for the club.
His potential departure could signal a major midfield overhaul. Against Brighton, Tottenham deployed Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Yves Bissouma in midfield, with Archie Gray, Palhinha, and Lucas Bergvall providing depth — highlighting the competition for places in that area.
