Renowned for his set-piece quality and tireless runs down the right flank, Tavernier played a key role in Rangers’ Scottish Premiership triumph in 2021 and their run to the Europa League final in 2022.

For a Tottenham side lacking consistency and experienced leadership this season, his output and availability on a free transfer present a rare market opportunity.

Robertson also on Spurs’ radar
Tavernier’s potential arrival appears to be part of a broader strategy, with Spurs also targeting experienced players available on free deals.

Reports indicate they are leading the race to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool FC. However, unlike the Tavernier deal, a move for the Scotland captain would likely depend on Tottenham maintaining their Premier League status.

Robertson is also expected to leave on a free transfer this summer, bringing an end to a highly successful spell at Anfield.
