However, the attacking midfielder is yet to make his comeback, with reports from Sport Witness outlining a prolonged recovery process and several delays.
On October 1, then Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson revealed that the Spurs attacker was in a “different phase of his rehabilitation.” Later that month, Tomasson was dismissed and replaced by Graham Potter.
By November 20, Potter suggested that Kulusevski could return “around New Year.” A month later, he revised that timeline, indicating a possible comeback during the March international break. However, by February, that optimism had faded, with Potter admitting it would be “tough” for the player to return in March. Sweden ultimately secured World Cup qualification that same month.
Despite recently undergoing another surgery, the 25-year-old has expressed confidence in representing his country this summer.
Tottenham not considering a sale
According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of selling Dejan Kulusevski at the end of the season.
Before his injury setback, there were reports linking the former Juventus player with a return to Italy, with AC Milan emerging as a potential destination.
Kulusevski has yet to feature under Roberto De Zerbi, but the Italian manager is keen to keep him at the club—even if Spurs were to be relegated to the Championship.
From Tottenham’s perspective, there are no plans to offload him, and the player himself has ‘never expressed a desire’ to leave. Those close to him maintain that his sole focus is on regaining full fitness, as he remains determined to return to the pitch and perform at the highest level.
That said, Calciomercato note that Tottenham’s potential relegation from the Premier League could still influence the Swede’s future.
